How to fix a Westinghouse WEC080C2X030 Water Heater with no hot water?
    • J
      jeffreypattonAug 10, 2025
If your Westinghouse Water Heater has no hot water, first check if the manual disconnect switch is turned off and turn it on. Also, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker and replace the fuse or reset the breaker. Another potential cause is shorted or improper wiring, in which case you should replace, repair, or rewire as needed. An overloaded circuit could also be the cause, so provide an adequate circuit to reduce the load. Lastly, a grounded element or thermostat could be the issue, and you should replace it.

Why is my Westinghouse Water Heater not producing enough hot water?
    • P
      powersnancyAug 15, 2025
If your Westinghouse Water Heater isn't producing enough hot water, it might be undersized for your needs; try reducing the rate of hot water usage. Another cause may be defective element(s), in which case you should check the amperage and replace the element if it's low. Finally, a miswired or defective thermostat could be causing only one element to work, so check the wiring or replace the thermostat.

      Clayton MurphyAug 21, 2025
If the water from your Westinghouse Water Heater is either too hot or not hot enough, the thermostat setting may be too high or low; change the setting as required. A thermostat out of calibration can also cause this issue, so replace the thermostat. Inspect the thermostat access panel(s) and/or insulation and replace as needed. Finally, ensure that the retaining spring(s) or mounting screws hold the thermostat(s) tightly to the mounting plates.

If your Westinghouse Water Heater is leaking, start by checking for loose connections between the inlet/outlet piping, relief valve, and/or hex nut union on the tank fittings and tighten them. If that's not the issue, inspect the seal ring washer and replace the seal rings as required. Also, examine the gasket around the heating element(s) and replace the gasket if necessary.

What to do if the T&P valve on my Westinghouse WEC080C2X030 Water Heater discharges?

      Adam BurgessAug 30, 2025
If the T&P valve on your Westinghouse Water Heater is discharging, first try opening and closing the handle to reseat the valve. If the issue persists, thermal expansion in a closed water system may be the cause, in which case you should install a thermal expansion tank. If the valve is damaged or defective, replace the relief valve. Note: Do NOT plug the T&P valve under any circumstances.

Why does my Westinghouse WEC080C2X030 have a hot water odor?
    • C
      Caitlin YoungSep 4, 2025
If your Westinghouse Water Heater has a hot water odor, it may be due to high sulfate or mineral content in the water supply; drain and flush the water heater, then refill it. If the odor persists, bacteria in the water supply could be the cause. In this case, you should check with a local water treatment specialist or utility to identify and address the problem.
