20.ZIPPER
SEWING
1.
Release
thc
thumb
screw
on
rear
side
of
foot.
Lower
needle
into
the
side
notch
of
the
foot
an&
check
position
of
the
foot
to
avoide
needle
strike
the
foot.
Fasten
thumb
screw
to
the.
lock
make
sure
that
the
foot
into
position.

Fold
edge
of
the
materialby
%“
and
place
zipper
under
the
folded
portion
of
the
material
where
you
wish
to
attach
the
zipper
3.
Stretch
close
to
the
edge
of
the
zipper
foot
along
zipper
teeth.
4.
To
sew
on
the
opposite
side
of
the
zipper,
loosen
thumb
screw
and
slide
the
foot
over
and
sew
the
same
way.
21.
CORDING
Using
the
Zipper
Foot
as
above,
fold
a
bias
strip
over
a
length
of
cord
(Fig.
32).
and
adjust
the
position
of
the
Foot
as
above
so
that
the
Needle
will
sew
close
to
the
corded
fabric.
You
can
then
use
the
finished
‘welting’
to
sew
between
plies
of
material
to
produce
a
‘piping’
effect
on
the
edge
of
your
work.
