The
stitch
forming
mechanism
occasionaUybecomes
clogged
with
loose
threads
and
lint.
This
will
interfere
with
the
efficient
operation
of
the
machine.
Cleaning
should
be
done
with
a
small
brush,
never
with
a
sharp
or
pointed
tool.
To
remove
the
stitch
forming
mechanism,
proceed
as
follows:
1. Turn
hand
wheel
until
the
needle
reaches
its
highest
position.
The
mechanism
will
assume
the
position
illustrated
in
(Fig.
63).
Tilt
head
back
on
its
hinges.
2.
Remove
bobbin
case”E”.
3.
Turn
the
two
shuttle
race
cover
clamps
“C”
outward
and
remove
the
shuttle
race
cover
“B”
and
shuttle
“A”.
4.
Clean
the
shuttle
race,
shuttle
and
shuttle
race
cover
by
removing
all threads,
lint,
etc.
5.
Apply
a
drop
of
oil
with
finger
tip
to
outer
edge
of
shuttle.
