Why does my Whitfield Profile 30 FS-2 Pellet stove keep shutting down?
    • S
      Samantha SantosAug 8, 2025
Your Whitfield Pellet stove might be shutting down due to several reasons. It could be simply out of fuel, so refill the hopper. Alternatively, the high limit temperature switch may have tripped; in that case, allow the appliance to cool for an hour before relighting. If the stove operates at a medium to high burn rate with the room air blower set to low, increase the blower speed. If the problem continues, especially at lower burn rates, the high limit thermal switch might need replacement by an authorized dealer. Also, ensure that the damper is adjusted correctly to avoid too much combustion air for the fuel amount.

What to do if Whitfield Profile 30 FS-2 Pellet stove fire burns with orange flame and has excessive glass soot?
    • J
      Jennifer RomeroNov 16, 2025
If your Whitfield Pellet stove's fire burns with a lazy orange flame, pellets build up in the grate, and there's excessive glass soot, it indicates insufficient combustion air. Perform maintenance by cleaning the UltraGrate™, clean-out ports, exhaust flow passages, venting system, and exhaust blower intake. Remove any clinkers or ash obstructing the primary air holes in the UltraGrate. Ensure the heat exchange tubes are free of ash and clean internal exhaust ducts. Check the door gasket seal and replace if necessary. Inspect for blockages in the air inlet tube or exhaust pipe. Also, inspect the glass seal. Adjust the fuel trim down for faster-feeding fuels or switch to a better fuel grade. Ensure the damper is open enough for the fuel amount. Have your dealer check the exhaust blower and v...

How to fix Whitfield Pellet stove when pellets will not feed?
    • A
      andersongeorgeNov 26, 2025
If pellets are not feeding into your Whitfield Pellet stove, start by refilling the hopper if it's empty. Check for any blockages in the pressure tap or hose. If the issue persists, have your authorized Lennox Hearth Products dealer diagnose the problem and replace any defective parts, as the auger motor or control board may be defective. Also, if it is a new installation check for excessive 90? bends, long horizontal runs or excessive vertical run of 3” pipe. Possibly change to 4” pipe. If older installation check for excessive ash accumulation in pipe or other obstructions. Clean out pipe. Ensure the thermostat isn't in standby mode and the wires are connected. If the high limit thermal switch tripped, allow the stove to cool and increase the room air blower setting. If the door switch i...
