5.2 Electrical connection
Electrical connection
should be made by a
qualified electrician.
Current national regula-
tions must be observed
(e.g. VDE regulations in
Germany).
– Check that the mains current
and voltage comply with the
data on the rating plate.
– Make connection as in fig. 6:
– Mains connection: L, N, PE.
– mains fuse: 10 A, inert.
–
T
he connecting cable can be
fed through the PG screwed
joint either to the left or right.
The screwed joint and the
blanking plugs (PG 11) must if
necessary be exchanged.
– Pump / installation must be
earthed in compliance with
regulations.
– The electrical connection is to
be made using fixed connecting
cable to VDE 0700/Part 1 fitted
with a plug-and-socket device or
an all-pole switch with at least 3
mm contact gap.
– A connecting cable with an ade-
quate external diameter (e.g.
H05VV-F3G1.5) is required to
protect against dripping water
and relief of tension on the PG
screwed joint.
– If the pumps are used in installa-
tions with water temperatures in
excess of 90 °C, a heat-resistant
connecting cable must be used.
– The supply cable must be laid in
such a way that it never touches
the pipework and/or the pump
and motor casing.
Caution risk of short-
circuit!
After electrical connec-
tions the terminal box
cover must be closed
properly, to protect
against moisture.
6 Operation
6.1 Filling and venting
Fill and ventilate the system pro-
perly. The pump rotor space is
usually ventilated automatically
after runing for a brief time. Brief
dry running will not damage the
pump. If, however, it should prove
necessary to ventilate the rotor
space directly, use the following
procedure:
– Switch off pump,
– Close shut-off valve on pressure
side,
– Open ventilation screw carefully
(see fig. 7),
Depending on the sys-
tem pressure and the
temperature of the pum-
ping medium, hot pum-
ping medium in the form
of a liquid or steam may
