Setting up the Rear Cab Mount with Winegard Satellite Antenna Page 6
Routing and Connecting Cables
Decide the best location for cables to enter the vehicle.
Consider the location of the power switch (if applicable)
and receiver(s).
If the antenna requires connection to a 12V power source
via a power cable, the power switch may be installed if
desired. If the antenna requires connection to a 12V power
source AND you would like to install the power switch, cut
off the power cord 12V plug. Refer to “Installing the Power
Switch” if unsure whether or not to cut off the 12V plug.
After determining the best location for the coaxial cables
and power cable (if applicable) to enter the tractor, run
the cables into the tractor, making sure the cables are
accessible from the area where the power switch (if
applicable) and/or receiver(s) will be located.
See “Installing a Connector on Coax Cable” on the next
page if connectors need to be installed on the coax
cable.
Make sure a coax cable is connected from the “Satellite
In” port of the primary receiver to the MAIN port on the
antenna. If connecting the antenna to two receivers, make
sure a second coax cable is connected to the SEC port.
Hand-tighten coax connections, and then tighten a quarter
turn more with a 7/16 wrench. Do not overtighten.
If there is a power socket on the antenna base, verify the
power cable has been connected to the power socket
on the base. Refer to the antenna manual if unsure how
to connect the power cable. If you have chosen NOT to
install the power switch, verify the opposite end of the
power cable is connected to a 12V power source.
Place the provided cable entry plate over the hole where
cables enter the vehicle. Screw the plate in place with
eight mounting screws. Seal the plate and screw holes
with approved sealant (not included).
Use the provided longer cable ties to secure the cables to
the tractor.
Secure excess cable with the provided cable clamps or
cable ties. Clamping every 1216 should eliminate any
unnecessary cable movement.
Maximum power cable length should not exceed 50 feet. To ensure that the power cable meets all performance
and safety specifications, use the supplied power cable.
Cut here
If cutting the 12V plug off of the power cable, a
250V/3A fast-acting fuse must be installed in line
at the power source. Failure to install the 250V/3A
fast-acting fuse could result in property damage,
personal injury, and/or death.
