The WORX Landroid WG797E is a robotic lawnmower designed for automatic and care-free lawn maintenance. It operates autonomously, navigating the lawn to ensure an even cut without leaving unattractive mowing paths. The Landroid is equipped with various sensors and programmable features to optimize its performance and ensure safe operation.
Function Description:
The Landroid WG797E is designed to mow lawns automatically. It determines its mowing path randomly, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the entire lawn. The robot knows when to return to its charging base (3) for recharging, detects rain, and stops operation if it encounters a problem or is lifted off the ground. It also automatically stops its blade turning disc (16) if lifted to prevent accidents. The Landroid can be controlled via a smartphone, allowing users to adjust general settings, monitor its working status, and view error messages. It is pre-programmed to mow the grass near the boundary wire once a week, but users can initiate this function at other times by pressing the home button.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Battery: 28-volt lithium-ion battery.
- Cutting Height: Adjustable between 2cm and 6cm. For the first use, the grass should be cut to a height of no more than 9cm.
- Mowing Area: Capable of mowing various sizes, depending on factors such as grass species, growth rate, blade sharpness (17), humidity, ambient temperature, and the number of obstacles.
- Boundary Wire (23): Used to define the mowing area. The recommended distance from the lawn border is more than 45cm. A spacing of at least 2 meters is required if a neighbor also uses a Landroid. The Landroid will not receive a signal from the boundary wire beyond 25m.
- Rain Sensor (12): Located at the rear, it detects raindrops and instructs the Landroid to stop mowing and return to the charging base. It can be programmed with a delay start function (0-180 minutes) when it rains.
- Keypad (19) and Display (20): For manual control and viewing status/error messages.
- Power Adaptor (22): For charging the battery.
- Blade Turning Disc (16) and Cutting Blades (17): The blades are razor sharp on all 4 edges and spin in both directions for maximum cutting capacity.
Usage Features:
- Automatic Mowing: The Landroid operates autonomously, choosing its direction randomly to ensure even lawn coverage.
- Charging Base (3): The robot returns to its charging base when it needs to recharge, following the boundary wire in an anti-clockwise direction.
- Boundary Wire Sensing: Two front sensors detect the boundary wire (23), ensuring the Landroid stays within the defined mowing area. It overruns the boundary wire by up to 25cm before changing direction.
- Stopping and Starting: Pressing the STOP button (8) on top of the mower opens the keypad window, awaiting further commands. The Landroid will not resume mowing until the START button is pressed and the keypad window is closed.
- Smart Phone Control: The WG797E model can be connected to a smartphone for general settings, monitoring working status, and error messages.
- Manual Charging: The battery can be charged manually without connecting the boundary wire by docking the powered-off Landroid into the charging base and pressing the ON/OFF button (21) within 3 seconds of the red charging light turning on.
- Software Update: The Landroid's software can be updated via a USB memory stick. The latest software version can be downloaded from www.worxLandroid.com.
Maintenance Features:
- Blade Maintenance (7.1):
- Rotation and Flipping: Blades (17) should be rotated and flipped periodically to use all 4 cutting edges. For daily mowing, this should be done monthly.
- Replacement: All blades and screws should be replaced simultaneously, preferably every season, to maintain balance and avoid serious injury. New screws must always be used.
- Cleaning (7.2):
- Body Cleaning: Use a soft brush or clean cloth and a spray bottle filled with water. Avoid using hoses, high-pressure washers, solvents, or polishes. Remove all grass clippings and debris.
- Underside Cleaning: Flip the Landroid upside down and clean the blade disc (16), main housing (14), front wheels (18), and drive wheels (11) with a soft brush or moist rag cloth. Ensure the blade disc and blades spin freely. Remove any lodged debris to prevent cracks in the blade disc.
- Contact Pins and Charging Strips: Clean the contact pins (2) on the charging base (3) and the charging strips (5) on the Landroid with a cloth to ensure proper charging.
- Battery Life (7.3): The 28-volt lithium-ion battery requires no maintenance. For proper storage, it should be fully charged and kept in a cool, dry place (20°C-60°C). Battery lifespan depends on mowing season duration, daily operating hours, and storage maintenance.
- Winter Hibernation (7.4): For optimal longevity, the Landroid should be stored indoors during winter. Before storage, it should be thoroughly cleaned, fully charged, and turned off. The battery should be fully charged at least once during winter. The charging base (3), low voltage cable (4), and transformer (22) should also be stored indoors. The boundary wire can remain in the ground, but its ends should be protected.
- Battery Replacement (7.5): To replace the battery, turn off the Landroid, flip it over, remove the six screws on the battery cover, extract the old battery, insert the new one, and firmly replace the screws.
