Emergency Starting Engine
1) Remove the top cowling.
2) Remove the start-in-gear protection
cable 1 from the starter after remov-
ing the clip 2 and the screw 3 if the
cable is equipped.

3) Remove the starter/flywheel cover
after removing 4 bolts.
Disconnect the leads for the warning
indicator.
4) Prepare the engine for starting. See
“STARTING ENGINE” for procedures.
Be sure the engine is in Neutral and
that the lock-plate on the end of lan-
yard is attached to the engine stop
lanyard switch. Set the main switch to
“ON” if equipped.
