TROUBLESHOOTING
Any of the following fail to light: headlight, high beam indicator light, taillights, license plate light or aux-
iliary lights.
TIP
• Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):
1. Leg shield

1. Check the condition of each bulb
and bulb socket.
Refer to “CHECKING THE BULBS
AND BULB SOCKETS” on page
8-134.
Replace the bulb(s) and bulb socket(s).
2. Check the fuses.
(Main, headlight, ignition, ECU, and
signaling system)
Refer to “CHECKING THE FUS-
ES” on page 8-135.
Replace the fuse(s).
3. Check the battery.
Refer to “CHECKING AND
CHARGING THE BATTERY” on
page 8-136.
• Clean the battery terminals.
• Recharge or replace the battery.
4. Check the main switch.
Refer to “CHECKING THE
SWITCHES” on page 8-131.
Replace the main switch/immobilizer unit.
5. Check the dimmer switch.
Refer to “CHECKING THE
SWITCHES” on page 8-131.
The dimmer switch is faulty. Replace the
left handlebar switch.
6. Check the pass switch.
Refer to “CHECKING THE
SWITCHES” on page 8-131.
The pass switch is faulty. Replace the left
handlebar switch.
7. Check the headlight relay.
Refer to “CHECKING THE RE-
LAYS” on page 8-139.
Replace the headlight relay.
