Continuously Variable Transmission
(CVT)
This model’s transmission includes a V-belt,
which provides the luxury of an automatic
transmission. The V-belt wears out naturally
the more you drive. However, it will wear out
more quickly from hard-driving and incorrect
gear selection. For longer belt life, remember
that terrain conditions and your driving style
directly affect the durability of the drive belt.
The V-belt will wear more quickly when heat-
ed. Heat stress factors include:
High ambient temperatures: above 30 °C
(86 °F)
Heavy loads: passengers and/or cargo
Heavy drag: soft sand, hill climbing, mud
crossings, etc.
Extended wide-open-throttle operation
When driving under heat-stress conditions, it
is recommended to reduce throttle at regular
intervals to allow the V-belt to cool.
