Usage Features:
- Permanent Structure: The gazebo is designed for permanent installation and includes Post Mounts for attachment to existing or new wood or concrete surfaces. Additional anchoring hardware for permanent mounting must be purchased separately.
- Assembly Requirement: The structure is designed to be assembled and installed by ideally four people. Attempting to install alone is not recommended due to safety and potential damage.
- Roofing Material: The metal roofing panels provide shelter from the elements. Care must be taken during installation as they have sharp edges and can bend, dent, and scratch easily. Plastic covering on both sides of the panels and trim must be removed before installation. Roofing screws should be hand-tightened to prevent crushing the panels.
- Mosquito Mesh Kit: The optional mesh kit provides an enclosed space, protecting users from insects. It features curtain tracks for smooth operation of the mesh panels, tie-back ribbons to secure the mesh when open, and button snaps for easy attachment and closure. The mesh is NOT flame retardant.
- Safety Warnings:
- Not intended as a safety barrier for pools, hot tubs, spas, or ponds.
- Not intended as load-bearing support for buildings, heavy objects, or swings.
- Not to be used in structures that trap wind, rain, or snow, as this creates extra load.
- Accumulated snow must be removed from the roof.
- Do NOT climb or walk on the roof.
- Wood is NOT flame retardant and will burn; grills, fire pits, and chimineas are fire hazards if placed too close.
- Wear gloves to avoid injury from sharp edges of metal parts.
- Follow all tool safety warnings and use OHSA-approved safety glasses during installation.
- Check for underground utilities before digging or driving stakes.
- Consult local planning, zoning, and building inspection departments for permit requirements.
Maintenance Features:
- Hardware Inspection: Regularly check metal parts for rust. If found, sand and repaint with a non-lead paint. Inspect and tighten all hardware after completion of assembly, after the first month of use, and then annually. Avoid over-tightening to prevent wood crushing or splintering. Check for sharp edges or protruding screw threads and add washers if needed.
- Wood Maintenance: Annual application of a water-based water repellent sealant or stain is crucial to maintain the maximum life and performance of the product. Check all wood members for deterioration, structural damage, and splintering. Sand down splinters and replace deteriorated members as necessary. Minor twisting, warping, checking, and small cracks in the grain are natural occurrences and do not affect product strength or integrity. Some gapping at wood connections is normal.
- Disposal: When disposing of the structure, disassemble it and ensure it does not create unreasonable hazards. Follow local waste ordinances.
