Overview

This document is a user manual for a Zanussi dishwasher, model ZDT25001FA, providing instructions for installation, daily use, settings, and troubleshooting.

Function Description

The Zanussi ZDT25001FA is a dishwasher designed for household and similar applications, including farmhouses, staff kitchen areas, hotels, motels, and bed & breakfast environments. Its primary function is to clean and dry crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans efficiently. The appliance features a water softener system to remove minerals from the water supply, which is crucial for optimal washing results and appliance longevity. It also includes a rinse aid dispenser to ensure dishes dry without streaks or stains. The dishwasher offers various programs tailored to different degrees of soil and types of load, aiming for efficient water and energy consumption.

Usage Features

The dishwasher is activated by an on/off button and offers several program options, including:

  • ECO 50°: A standard program for normal soil crockery and cutlery, designed for efficient water and energy use. This is the recommended program for test institutes.
  • AUTO 45°-70°: An automatic program that senses the degree of soil and quantity of items, adjusting temperature, water quantity, energy consumption, and program duration accordingly. Suitable for all crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans.
  • 60° A30': A program for fresh soil crockery and cutlery, providing good washing results in a short time.
  • 70°: A high-temperature program for heavy soil crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans, featuring a high-temperature rising phase for better hygiene, with the temperature staying at 70°C for at least 10 minutes during the rinsing phase.
  • 45°: A program for normal or light soil, delicate crockery, and glassware.

The dishwasher also includes a Delay Start function, allowing users to postpone the program start by 3, 6, or 9 hours. An AUTO OFF function automatically deactivates the appliance after 5 minutes of inactivity (either after a program completes or if a program has not started), contributing to energy saving.

For detergent, users can choose between separate detergent, salt, and rinse aid, or multi-tablets. When using multi-tablets that integrate salt, rinse aid, and detergent functions, the Multitab option can be activated. This option deactivates the release of salt and prolongs the program duration to enhance cleaning and drying results. However, for hard and very hard water, using solo-detergent, rinse aid, and salt separately is recommended for optimal results.

The appliance provides indicators for program end, multitab activation, and salt levels. The salt indicator is always off when the program is operating.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is essential for the dishwasher's performance and longevity. Key maintenance aspects include:

  • Water Softener Adjustment: The water softener level should be adjusted according to the local water hardness. This setting can be changed in user mode, with the current level indicated by flashes of the ECO indicator.
  • Salt Container: The salt container needs to be filled with salt specifically designed for dishwashers. Before first use, one litre of water should be added to the salt container, followed by salt. A program should be started immediately after filling to prevent corrosion. The appliance may take up to 5 minutes to recharge the resin in the water softener at the beginning of a program.
  • Rinse Aid Dispenser: The rinse aid dispenser should be filled when its indicator becomes clear. The release quantity of rinse aid can be adjusted in user mode. The rinse aid dispenser can also be deactivated if the Multitab option is used without rinse aid.
  • Cleaning Filters: The filters (flat filter, coarse filter, and microfilter) should be checked regularly and cleaned if necessary to prevent decreased washing results and potential damage to the appliance. They should be reassembled correctly to avoid bad washing results.
  • Cleaning Spray Arms: The spray arms should be checked for clogged holes, and any remaining soil parts should be removed with a thin pointed object. The spray arms should not be removed for cleaning.
  • External Cleaning: The appliance exterior should be cleaned with a moist soft cloth and neutral detergents. Abrasive products or solvents should not be used.
  • Internal Cleaning: The interior, including the rubber gasket of the door, should be cleaned with a soft damp cloth. To prevent grease and limescale deposits, especially with regular use of short duration programs, running long duration programs at least twice a month is recommended. A specific dishwasher cleaning product can also be used monthly.

The manual also provides troubleshooting information for common issues, such as the appliance not starting, not filling or draining water, leaks, or unsatisfactory washing/drying results, guiding users to potential causes and solutions before contacting an Authorized Service Centre. For safety, it is emphasized that repairs must be performed by qualified personnel.
