To program the Symbol LI4278 for communication to a USB host, follow the
steps below.
1. REPLACE BATTERY INSIDE THE SCANNER WITH THE NEW ONE
THAT’S INCLUDED IN THE BOX.
2. Connect the USB interface cable to the cradle and to your host (PC)
3. If using an external power supply (to allow fast charging of the
scanner), insert the power cable into the power port on the back of the
cradle, and connect the power supply to an AC power outlet
4. Let the scanner fully charge. Takes about 3 hours if using an external
power supply and about 5 hours using the USB cable
5. Scan “Set All Defaults” barcode below
6. Scan the barcode (S/N) located on the cradle
7. Scan “HID Keyboard Emulation” barcode below
