Adjust A ATT register in IC1400 for 490 mVrms (±
10mVrms) in TVOUT-L output, pin 44 of IC1400 for MTS
models and at pin 11 for STEREO models.
Stereo, SAP VCO adjustment
(only for MTS models)
Set bits TEST-DA = “1” and TEST1 = “0” of IC1400.
Monitor the TVOUT-R output frequency (pin 43 of
IC1400) in a no input state.
Adjust A VCO register of IC1400 so that frequency is as
close to 62.936 KHz (± 0.5 KHz) as possible.
Stereo, SAP dbx filter adjustment
(only for MTS models)
Set bits TEST-DA = “0” and TEST1 = “I” of IC1400.
Input 9.4 KHz, 600mVrms to COMP-IN pin 19 of IC1400.
While monitoring the STATUS FLAG (FILADJ bit, see figure
2) of IC1400, adjust A FILTER register. Align with the
center of the FILADJ = 1 .

Separation Adjustment (for MTS and Stereo models)
Set bits TEST-DA = 0 and TEST1 = 0 of IC1400 for MTS
models.
Set the chassis for RF input.
Set IC1400 to stereo mode.
a) Input signal: PIF 30 dBmv modulated with color bars
at 85% mod., SIF 19 dBmv modulated with stereo
signal, 300 Hz at 12.9 KHz deviation (30 % mod.),
left channel only, dbx ON.
b) Adjust WIDEBAND register to reduce right speaker
output at the minimum. Set the frequency only of
SIF signal to 3 KHz. Adjust ASPECTRAL register to
reduce right speaker output at the minimum.
