Why is the ZyXEL Communications G-220 v3 link quality poor?

  Poor link quality and signal strength may be due to radio interference, such as microwaves or other access points using the same channel. To improve this, try searching for and connecting to an access point with better link quality using the Site Survey screen. You can also move your computer closer to the access point or peer computers within the transmission range. Lowering the output power of each access point and reducing the number of wireless stations connected to a wireless network can also help.

  First, ensure the adapter is properly inserted and the LEDs are on. Check the Quick Start Guide for LED descriptions. Next, use the Device Manager to check for hardware conflicts by going to Start, Settings, Control Panel, System, Hardware, and Device Manager (steps may vary depending on your Windows version). Verify the adapter's status under Network Adapters. If the problem persists, install the adapter in another computer. If the error continues, it may be a hardware problem, and you should contact your local vendor.

  If you have installed the Funk Odyssey Client software on your computer, uninstall both the Funk Odyssey Client software and the ZyXEL utility. Then, restart your computer and reinstall the ZyXEL utility.

  Ensure that the computer with the adapter installed is turned on. Verify that the wireless stations use the same SSID as the adapter. Also, confirm that the wireless stations use the same security settings. Check the MAC Filter screen to ensure the wireless stations are not blocked.
