2. Installing the Reader
This chapter explains how to install the 3M™ AT9000 MK2 Full Page Reader software and connect the
reader to the PC.
Before you begin
Before you install the reader, you need to meet the following requirements:
•
A PC with USB 2.0 ports (the reader will not work if connected to a USB 1.1 port)
•
A PC running Windows® 2000 SP4/XP/Vista/7
•
Administrative rights to install the software
• If you are installing multiple readers with the RFID option, ensure a minimum of 25 cm (10 inches)
between readers to prevent potential interference.
Installation overview
Installation consists of the following steps:
1. Unpack the reader.
2. Install the software.
3. Connect the reader cables.
4. Power on the reader.
5. Test the reader installation.
