Appendix A: Installation Overview
Installation of the analyzer must be performed by an Abaxis authorized representative to ensure
that all system components are functioning correctly and to verify system performance.
NOTE: Installation of the analyzer by an unauthorized or untrained personnel could result in
damage to the analyzer which is exclusive of the warranty. Never attempt to install without an
Abaxis authorized representative.
SA Analyzer Installation
Keep the analyzer away from direct sunlight.
Avoid temperature extremes. Refer to Appendix C for SA Analyzer Specifications.
Installation of the analyzer connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is
recommended.
Keep away from sources of vibration or radiation (examples: centrifuge, X-ray equipment,
and copier).
When installing the unit, do not obstruct access to power switch or power cord.
SA Reagent Installation
There are three tube-connectors on the rear panel: Rinse A, Rinse B, and Waste, each of which
is covered with a cap to avoid contamination, along with a coaxial BNC Waste Sensor. Ensure
containers are placed on the same level as the SA Analyzer and all caps are tight and secure.
Rinse A = Green; Rinse B = Blue; Waste = Black; BNC plug connects to “Sensor”
Keep the tubes unkinked with slack, no distortion or folding.
All the tubes should be installed manually by hand. Do NOT utilize any tool. Ensure the
twist on connectors at the back of the analyzer are tight and the tube is fully seated on the
fitting after every Reagent Kit change, and that there is no sign of reagent leakage.
If any damage or leakage occurs in the reagent container, contact your local Abaxis
representative.
Before disposing of waste from the VETSCAN SA, consult your local waste disposal regulations
and the VETSCAN SA Reagent Kit SDS/MSDS for recommendations.
Display, Keyboard and Mouse Installation

Keyboard and Mouse connect with PS2 connections.
