Loudness
Compensator
These
selectors
are
used
to
compen-
sate
for
unevenness
in
perceived
acoustic
energy
across
the
audible
frequency
range
at
low
volume
levels.
As
the
volume
is
lowered,
the
human
ear
becomes
less
sensitive
to
very
low
and
high
frequencies.
These
selectors
are
provided
to
compensate
for
this
shortcoming.
In
the
1
setting,
frequencies
around
100Hz
are
boosted
+3dB;
in
the
2
setting,
fre-
quencies
around
100Hz
are
boosted
+8dB
and
frequencies
around
20kHz
are
boosted
+6dB.
An
indicator
imme-
diately
over
selector
1
or
2
lights
to
show
when
either
mode
has
been
activated.
A
second
indicator
is
pro-
vided
in
the
central
indicator
sec-
tion
to
show
that
one
of
these
selectors
is
pressed
even
when
the
sub-panel
door
is
closed.
