SHAFT ALIGNMENT
HORIZONTAL MACHINES
INTRODUCTION
Shaft alignment: Determine and adjust the
relative position of two machines that are
connected, such as a motor and a pump, so
that the rotational centers of the shafts are
collinear, when the machines are working in a
normal operating condition. Correction of
horizontal shaft alignment is done by moving
the front and the rear pair of one machine’s
feet, vertically and horizontally, until the shafts
are aligned within the given tolerances. A
tolerance table is available in the system.
