Overview

The DPC200 Differential Pressure Controller, manufactured by Arthur Grillo GmbH, is a device designed for measuring low pressure of inert gases, particularly air, and for controlling air conditioning systems, room pressure, or filter control with ebm-papst continuously variable speed fans. It can operate as a pressure sensor (measuring mode) or as a closed-loop controller for pressure/volumetric flow rate control.

Function Description:

The DPC200 utilizes a soft silicone diaphragm as its sensor. When differential pressure is applied, the diaphragm displaces a measuring spring until the spring force balances the pressure. This displacement is then converted into a continuously variable output voltage signal by a contactless differential transformer and associated electronics.

The device offers two primary function options:

  1. Measuring Device: In this mode, the differential pressure is displayed, and a proportional 0-10V DC output signal is provided.
  2. Control Mode: The DPC200 can also operate in a control mode. It allows for two adjustable setpoints, which can be selected via a potential-free contact input. A PI-Algorithm matches the measured differential pressure with the setpoint, and the control variable is operated to maintain a constant pressure. The control variable is also given as a 0-10V DC output signal.

The device can also use "volume flow" instead of "differential pressure" for both measuring and control. When used as a volume flow sensor, the device outputs a square root signal. For closed-loop pressure or volume flow, the output signal represents the control variable of the PI-control.

Usage Features:

  • Wall Mounting: The DPC200 is designed for wall mounting. The mounting surface must be solid and vibration-free, and the environment must meet the specified ambient climatic conditions. The device must be mounted vertically.
  • Zero Adjustment: The output signal offset can be zeroed externally using a small bar magnet, without needing to use the T1 or T2 buttons. This involves removing tubing from pressure connections, holding the magnet to the zero point adjustment, and activating an internal reed switch. The new zero point is then displayed and stored.
  • Menu Operation: The device features a menu structure accessible via T1 and T2 buttons, located behind the front cover. This allows for configuration of operating mode (measuring or control), unit metric (metric or imperial), parameter (differential pressure or volume flow), setpoints, output voltage, P-parameter (P-gain), I-parameter (I-gain), and controlling mode (positive/heating or negative/cooling).
  • Alarm Function: The DPC200 has an open collector alarm output. In control mode, the alarm activates if the output voltage is greater than 0.95 * MaxUout or less than 0.9 * MaxUout for 12 seconds. In measuring mode, the alarm activates if the measurement is greater than 1.0 * limit value or less than 0.95 * limit value for 12 seconds.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Maintenance: The DPC200 contains no wearing or consumable parts. Servicing is not required under normal conditions. However, for specific requests, Arthur Grillo GmbH offers an annual calibration with a factory certificate.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues like the display not showing anything, measurement staying zero, or error remaining. These issues are addressed by checking electrical connections, performing zeroing, or contacting the manufacturer.
