How to troubleshoot ADEMCO LYNX Security System no response to a transmitter in normal operation?

Madeline SaundersSep 12, 2025
If there is no response to a transmitter in normal operation with your ADEMCO 5800 System, but the zone number clears during Transmitter Sniffer mode, it could be due to the wrong input being 'entered' during programming or the physical transmitter not being entered by the system. Delete the input's serial number and enter the proper input in field *56, or reprogram the necessary transmitter for the zone.

What causes ADEMCO LYNX Security System digital communicator message not being received?
J
Jeff RobinsonSep 13, 2025
A digital communicator message from your ADEMCO Security System might not be received because the system is in Test mode, the telephone connection is not secure, the digital communicator is malfunctioning, the telephone number in the program needs a prefix or access code, or the telephone call to the central monitoring station requires operator assistance. Remove the system from Test mode, check all telephone connections, test with a different LYNX, program the necessary prefix or access code into the LYNX. If the telephone call to the central monitoring station requires operator assistance, the system cannot work in this situation.

The AC light might be off on your ADEMCO Security System due to an interrupted AC power supply. Check the transformer connection and the powerline circuit breaker.
