Usage Features

The ice maker is designed for ease of use with a clear operation panel.

  • Control Panel: Features "TIMER CLEAN" and "ON/OFF" buttons, along with "+", "-" buttons for adjustments, and an LCD display window.
  • Starting Up: After plugging in and pressing the ON/OFF button, the machine initiates ice making, filling the water tank via an electromagnetic water valve. The display shows ambient temperature and a countdown for the ice-making cycle.
  • Ice Making Cycle: Each cycle takes approximately 11-20 minutes, though the first cycle may be longer due to higher water temperature. The unit automatically enters a deicing process after each cycle.
  • Ice Thickness Adjustment: Users can adjust ice thickness by pressing the "+" or "-" buttons, which modifies the ice-making duration in 1-minute increments. The default setting is "0".
  • Ice Full Detection: The unit stops making ice when the ice storage bin is full, indicated by a specific symbol. It resumes operation once ice is removed.
  • Water Shortage Detection: An arrow flashing on the display indicates the machine is filling with water. If the water supply cannot reach the standard level, a symbol remains bright, and the unit stops working, restarting automatically after 15 minutes.
  • Timer Function: The "TIMER CLEAN" button allows setting an ON-TIMER or OFF-TIMER for 1-24 hours. The "H" symbol on the display indicates the timer is active. This function can be canceled by pressing the "TIMER" button again.
  • Forced Ice Harvest: During ice making, pressing the "ON/OFF" button for more than 5 seconds will force the unit into the ice harvest process, which can help remove ice from the ice plate.
  • Error Indicators: The LCD display shows error codes: E1 for ambient temperature sensor damage, E2 for ice making anomaly or refrigerant leakage. A "Full" light indicates a magnetic control switch cutoff.

Maintenance Features

The manual provides comprehensive instructions for cleaning and maintenance to ensure efficiency, performance, hygiene, and longevity.

  • Unpacking and Installation: Users are instructed to remove packaging, clean the interior, and place the unit on a level, flat surface with adequate clearance (at least 20cm at the air outlet, 5cm on sides, 15cm at the rear) for proper ventilation. It's recommended to allow 4 hours for refrigerant fluid to settle before plugging in.
  • Water Connection: Detailed steps are provided for connecting the water supply hose to the unit and the main water supply faucet, as well as connecting the water drain pipe to a main drainage pipeline.
  • Pre-use Cleaning: Before first use, a thorough cleaning of the interior with diluted detergent and warm water is recommended. The water drain pipe of the water tank can be pulled out to facilitate draining the cleaned water. The first batch of ice after cleaning should be discarded.
  • Exterior Cleaning: The door and cabinet should be cleaned regularly with a mild detergent solution and a soft cloth. Abrasive cleaners or solvents should not be used. Stainless steel models may discolor if exposed to chlorine gas and moisture, requiring cleaning with a mild detergent.
  • Interior Cleaning (Ice Storage Bin): The ice storage bin should be sanitized occasionally using a solution of household bleach and hot water. After cleaning, it should be thoroughly rinsed, and the waste water drained. The ice scoop should also be washed regularly.
  • Ice Making Parts Cleaning:
    • Water Tank and Inner Parts: Regular cleaning of the water tank and other internal components is advised.
    • Water Dividing Pipe: If water flow is obstructed, the water dividing pipe (with nine small holes) on the evaporator should be disassembled and cleaned to ensure all holes are clear.
    • Evaporator Surface: If ice cubes stick to the evaporator, pressing the "ON/OFF" button for more than 5 seconds will initiate an ice melting process to release them, after which the unit can be turned off and cleaned.
    • Water Tank and Ice-Full Detecting Plate: These parts are crucial for hygiene and should be cleaned with a neutral cleaner and water spray, then wiped with a clean cloth. The water drain pipe of the water tank should be used to drain the cleaning solution.
  • Automatic Self-Cleaning Program: The unit has a 20-minute self-cleaning program activated by pressing the "TIMER CLEAN" button for more than 5 seconds. During this program, the water pump runs for 8 minutes and stops for 3 minutes in cycles. This program can be canceled by pressing the "ON/OFF" button.
  • Nu-Calgon Nickel-Safe Ice-Machine Cleaner: For removing mineral scale buildup, especially with hard water, a specific cleaning procedure using Nu-Calgon Nickle Safe Ice-machine Cleaner is recommended every 6 months. This involves mixing the cleaner with warm water, pouring it into the water tank, running a self-cleaning program, and then draining and rinsing the system multiple times. Warning: Wear rubber gloves and safety goggles when handling the cleaner.
  • Long Storage Preparation: For extended periods of non-use or relocation, all water must be drained from the system. This involves allowing all ice cubes to eject, turning off and unplugging the unit, shutting off the main water supply, disconnecting hoses, and draining water from both the water tank and the unit's drain port. The door should be left open to prevent mold and mildew, and the unit should be dried and covered.
  • Periodic Cleaning Schedule:
    • Daily: Ice shovel, door, and water dividing pipe.
    • Semi-Monthly: Ice shovel, ice bin, water tank, ice-full detecting plate, and evaporator surface.
    • Semi-Annual: All components exposed to water or ice cubes, including the ice storage bin, water tank, door, evaporator, water pump, silicone tube, and water dividing pipe, using Nu-Calgon Nickle Safe Ice-machine Cleaner by a serviceman.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual includes a section for common problems, possible causes, and solutions, such as no water supply, blocked water level switch, irregular ice cube shape, and issues with ice thickness or transparency.
  • Safety Warnings: Emphasizes proper grounding, avoiding extension cords, keeping ventilation openings clear, not damaging the refrigerant circuit, and supervising children. It also warns against storing explosive substances and using flammable fluids for cleaning. The appliance is intended for household and similar applications.
  • Disposal: The product should not be disposed of with general household waste but recycled responsibly through designated collection systems.
