HSIOC is also Known as Override Pickup. The trip units used in
ME09 circuit breakers are provided with an override
instantaneous trip:
-- The HSIOC seƫng is normally set at 107% of the circuit
breaker Icw raƟng when the adjustable selecƟve instantaneous
is set to ON.
-- If the adjustable selecƟve instantaneous is set to OFF then the
HSIOC nominal pick up is reduced to 98% of the circuit breaker’s
Icw and, considering tolerance, the minimum pickup reacts at
91% of the circuit breaker’s Icw value.
Every ME09 circuit breaker uses a making current release that is
speciĮcally designed to prevent damage to the circuit breaker
when it closed on a fault.
The making current release value varies per circuit breaker
envelope and is related to the circuit breaker’s close and latch
raƟng as indicated in table 2.7
The MCR pickup is acƟvated at the Ɵme the circuit breaker
closes and for six cycles thereaŌer. When the six cycles are over,
the threshold changes to the HSIOC pickup seƫng.
