Note: Refer to appropriate harrow location illustration on following pages.
ALL MODELS
1. Mount carriers to rear implement frame with
U-bolts, lock washers and nuts.
Note: Carrier chain holes are on bottom.
2. Loosely attach tow links to rear frame.
3. Place harrow sections under carriers and align
tow links with bolt-on tow lugs (see illustrations).
Tow lug mounts on top of front harrow bar with
lugs forward.
Note: On some models, a bolt-on tow lug is
mounted to front harrow bar instead of harrow
section pull bar.
4. Assemble links, plates and tow chains with
bushings, flat washers and bolts. Attach to tow
lugs.
5. Align tow links with tow lugs and connect chains
to tow links.
IMPORTANT! Tow chains must stay clear of
shank ground tools and ground flow.
6. Attach lift chains to sides of carriers.
Note: Install flat washer under each bolt head.
7. Attach bottom chain links to U-bolts holding
teeth to harrow section and aligning with chain.
Remove nut, install chain and flat washer.
Secure with centerlock nut.
8. Tighten all hardware.
9. Repeat for each harrow section.
FOLDING MODELS
Complete Steps #1 - #9 for rigid models.
Additionally, 15 and 17-shank folding models have
four cross chains, two on each wing harrow section,
to keep the wing sections in position during
transport.
1. Raise implement so harrow lift chains are tight,
but harrow remains on ground.
2. Attach two cross chains to each wing outer
carrier:
- One to front hole
- One to rear hole where lift chain attaches Use
3/8″ x 3-3/4″ bolts, lock washers and nuts.
3. Drape chains toward center of machine.
4. Secure front ends of cross chains:
- Front chain to front harrow bar
- Rear chain to rear harrow bar
Attach chains to harrow teeth U-bolts. Remove
nut, install chain and flat washer, then secure
with centerlock nut.
Note: Be sure cross chains are not tight enough
to adversely affect harrow section performance.
