2 Safety
2.1 Explanation of symbols
In this manual, safety notices and warnings are indi-
cated by symbols and signal words. Signal words indi-
cate the hazard risk level.
Hazard with medium risk level. May re-
sult in serious injury or death if not
averted.
Hazard with low risk level. May result in
minor or moderate injury if not averted.

2.2 Use as intended
The appliance is intended for the display of packaged,
deep frozen food products, in particular ice cream, or
access to them by customers.
The operator is responsible for proper operation of the
appliance.

▪ Do not make any technical changes
to the appliance.
▪ Do not use steam or high-pressure
cleaners for basic cleaning.
▪ Do not store explosive materials
such as aerosol containers with com-
bustible propellant gas in this appli-
ance.
▪ Only start up and operate the appli-
ance once it has been properly set
up and installed and has no obvious
defects.
NOTICE
Material and property damage due to misuse.
▪ Do not operate the appliance above the cli-
mate class stated on the rating plate (see →
Rating plate and serial number).
▪ The ambient temperature must not fall below
16°C (60.8°F).
▪ Operate the appliance in a stable operating
position (horizontal alignment).
▪ Check that the appliance is in good, proper
condition. Any damage must be repaired im-
mediately.
▪ Prior to storing goods and during operation,
check to ensure that the temperature is cor-
rect (see → Temperature display).
▪ In the event of a power failure, stored goods
must be checked by the operating company
(temperature check).
