Muting:
Reducing
the
playback
volume
instantly
The
mute
system
can
be
used
to
instantly
reduce
the
playback
volume
without
using
the
VOLUME
control.
This
is
convenient
when
answering
a
sudden
phone
call,
etc.
Press
the
remote
control’s
MUTE
button.
The
MUTING
indicator
will
light
up
and
the
playback
volume
will
be
instantly
reduced.
To
restore
the
normal
volume
level
Press
the
MUTE
button
again.
The
MUTING
indicator
will
go
off.

muting,
the
volume
level
is
reduced
by
-20
dB
(to
1/10)
from
the
set
volume
level.

Turning

Protection
circuit
This
amplifier
includes
a
built-in
protection
circuit
that
is
acti-
vated
to
protect
the
speakers
from
noise
damage
when
the
amplifiers
power
is
turned
on.
The
protection
circuit
also
functions
during
playback
to
pro-
tect
the
speakers
from
overloads,
and
to
protect
the
circuit
from
damage.
When
speakers
with less
than
the
rated
imped-
ance
are
used,
the
protection
circuit
will
short-circuit
the
®
and
©
speaker
cords.
When
the
protection
circuit
is
engaged,
the
output
signal
will
be
cut
automatically.

Connect
the
headphones
to
the
PHONES
jack.

output

headphones
during
playback,
turn
down

volume
first.

graphic
equalizer
connected

amplifier
Set
the
SOURCE
DIRECT
button
to
OFF
before
beginning
playback
of
the
source.
Note:
Output
signal
levels
of
graphic
equalizers
differ
from
unit
to
unit.
Because
of
this,
the
playback
volume
levels
may
increase
or
decrease
suddenly
if
the
position
of
the
SOURCE
DIRECT
button
is
changed
during
playback.
If
you
wish
to
change
the
setting
of
the
SOURCE
DIRECT
but-
ton
during
playback,
first
turn
down
the
volume
with
the
VOL-
UME
control.

Attention
To
prevent
distortion
when
using
the
graphic
equalizer
dur-
ing
playback,
do
not
set
the
frequency
level
controls
to
their
maximum
positions.
Should
the
sound
be
cut
during
playback:
