How to reduce noise in AliveCor Kardia EKG recording?
    • P
      Patrick RhodesAug 16, 2025
To improve the EKG recording quality on your AliveCor Medical Equipment, ensure the Enhanced Filter is on, clean the Kardia Mobile electrodes with an alcohol-based sanitizer, and use a water-based lotion if your hands are very dry. When recording from your hands, relax your arms and hands to reduce muscle noise by resting your forearms and hands on a flat surface, and avoid squeezing Kardia Mobile. Also, make sure your smartphone or tablet is not charging or syncing and that you are not using headphones during the recording. Ensure both the device and user remain still, and verify that the Mains Filter is set correctly for your location in the Kardia phone app settings.

      Kimberly NguyenAug 22, 2025
If you rotate your phone while recording an EKG with AliveCor Medical Equipment so that the screen flips from portrait to landscape mode, the recording will automatically stop and not be saved. Avoid rotating your phone during recording to maintain recording quality.

Why do I see large spikes at the start of my AliveCor Kardia Medical Equipment recording?
    • J
      Jon RodriguezAug 28, 2025
This issue with AliveCor Medical Equipment is rare, large amounts of noise/artifact can be seen for the first few milliseconds of a recording when the Enhanced Filter is looking for your heartbeat. It lasts until your first heartbeat is seen in the app and doesn’t affect the rest of your recording.

Why is the real-time display of my AliveCor Medical Equipment EKG recording lagging?
    • L
      Lauren SolisAug 31, 2025
If you are using an iPhone 4 with AliveCor Medical Equipment and syncing a large amount of recordings from the server, the real-time display of your EKG may be slow. This issue has been reported for iPhone 4 and occurs after an update or new install of the application. This does not impact the EKG recording itself. Waiting for sync to complete (can take up to 30 minutes) after re-installing the application will prevent this error from occurring.

Why does the AliveCor Medical Equipment PDF Report look different on the Web and in my App?
    • V
      Valerie SchneiderSep 3, 2025
There is a 2.5 millisecond difference in where the PDF starts for the Web Application and the Mobile Application of AliveCor Medical Equipment. There is no difference in the recording and it will not impact how your EKG is interpreted.

Why do the EKG rhythms appear upside down on my AliveCor Kardia Medical Equipment?
    • R
      Robert MedinaSep 6, 2025
In the future, when using AliveCor Medical Equipment, make sure that the left hand contacts the electrode closer to the top of the smartphone or tablet, and the right hand contacts the electrode closer to the bottom of the smartphone or tablet. To invert a recording on your smartphone or tablet, see ?Invert the EKG recording? under ?Recording Adjustments?.

Why is the HUD symbol covered up when I rotate my phone using AliveCor Kardia?
    • D
      Darius PerezSep 9, 2025
The heads up display (HUD) symbol on AliveCor Medical Equipment can sometimes be partially obstructed when you rotate your phone while it’s busy. This isn’t a concern; the HUD symbol is just letting you know that the app is working and doesn’t impact your recording or information.
