Appendix B Module Tag Definitions
Access the Tags
You can view tags from the Tag Editor.
1. Open your Logix Designer application project.
2. Right-click Controller Tags and choose Monitor Tags.
3. Open the tags as necessary to view specific tags.
Name Conventions
The module tags use defined naming conventions. The conventions are as
follows: (example tag name = remote_ethernet_adapter_1:I.Pt00.Data).
An example module tag name is constructed as follows:
• remote_ethernet_adapter = name of the EtherNet/IP™ adapter in the
system
•1 = slot number
•I = tag type
For the 1756-IB16S and 1756-OBV8S modules, the possible
I/O tag types
are I (input) and O (output).
• Pt00 = module point number
• Data = function
In this case, Data represents the input data that is returned to the owner-
controller.
