toalowertransmissionrangeincreasesenginebrakingand
canhelpyoumaintaincontrol.Thetransmissionhasafeature
topreventautomaticupshiftingabovethelowerrangeselected.
However,duringdownhilloperation,ifenginegovernedspeed
isexceededinthelowerrange,thetransmissionwillupshift
tothenexthigherrangetopreventenginedamage.Thiswill
reduceenginebrakingandcouldcausealossofcontrol.
Applythevehiclebrakesorotherretardingdevicetoprevent
exceedingenginegovernedspeedinthelowerrangeselected.
