2). Oil Temp Gauge:
Displays engine oil temperature. Normal operating is from 220°F to 240°F. The engine will shut
down if the temperature rises above 266°F.
3). Voltmeter:
Displays voltage supplied by the main power alternator. The voltmeter should read 13.5 – 14.5 V
at full engine rpm. Check this gauge if electronics act sluggish, or if there are electronic problems
in general. If voltage drops or rises outside of the 13.5 - 14.5V range diagnose the problem,
check SECTION D TROUBLE SHOOTING, and or call ALMACO for assistance.
4) Fuel Gauge:
Displays fuel level. Use diesel fuel only. See engine manual for fuel specifications.
5) Oil Pressure Gauge:
This gauge displays the engine oil pressure in psi. Normal operating oil pressure is: 30-60 psi.
6) Hour Meter:
Shows the number of hours the machine has been in operation. It is important to keep track of
hours to follow proper maintenance procedures. See SECTION E MAINTENANCE for
Maintenance Schedule.
7) Ignition Switch:
Turn one click counter-clockwise for accessory power, one click clockwise to turn machine power
on, full clockwise and hold to start (Refer to ENGINE STARTING PROCEDURE). For engine
starting procedure with cold-starting aid (heat plugs) refer to ENGINE OPERATION in ENGINE
OPERATORS MANUAL.
8) Brake Switch:
Engages or disengages the fail-safe parking brake. Engage parking brake anytime the machine is
stopped or left unattended. Check this lever if forward / reverse controls do not seem to be
responding. Charge pressure of 200 psi is required to release brakes, if hydraulic failure occurs
brakes apply automatically. Brake must be engaged before starting.
9). Header Lift:
Header lift lever raises the head to avoid rocks, holes, and other obstacles. When clear of
obstacles push forward to allow the head to ride on the header gauge wheels. It is important to lift
the head whenever turning or at road speed. Review HEADER SETTINGS AND
ADJUSTMENTS for individual header information.
10) Hydraulic Accessory:
This lever controls any hydraulic accessory options. These options may be specific to your
combine. Be sure to understand these functions before operating. See SECTION I OPTIONS for
additional information on available options.
11) Lighting:
This switch controls road lights and harvest lights. Always use road lights while driving on public
roads to increase visibility of combine and operator.
