7.0 Trouble shooting chart GB
You have chosen a quality product and therefore deserve the best service. To avoid unnecessary problems, you should
try to correct any fault before contacting the nearest ALTO service organisation:
Symptom Cause Remedy
Machine will not start
Service code on display flashing
S The machine should be serviced at the first opportunity, see section 6.1.
This is not a fault but a warning! NB: The machine can be started after 10 seconds.
Fault code on display flashing
The fault code comprises a letter and a figure flashing in turn. If you have unsuccessfully tried to correct the fault
as described below, please contact your ALTO service technician and inform him of „letter and figure“.
A Power consumption too high Check fuses in all phases.
Remove wrongly dimensioned extension cables.
Clean nozzle if blocked, see section 6.3.
Check that the voltage stated on the model tag corresponds to
the mains voltage.
P 1 Phase sequence wrong
Exchange two phase conductors in plug. Send for an authorized electrician.
P 2 Fault in electronic system Send for a ALTO service technician.
C L F Fault in safety system Send for a ALTO service technician. Continued operation with
cold water, see section 3.6.3 *)
Display dark Machine does not react Check fuses, electric cable and plug
The burner of the boiler does not ignite
Fuel tank empty Fill up with 5 l at least.
L No flame Check suction filter in fuel tank.
P 1 Phase sequence wrong
Exchange two phase conductors in plug. Send for an authorized electrician.
P 2 Fault in electronic system Send for a ALTO service technician.
C L F Fault in safety system Send for a ALTO service technician. Continued operation with
cold water, see section 3.6.3 *)
Display dark Machine does not react Check fuses, electric cable, and plug.
Pressure fluctuating and pulsating
Insufficient water Clean inlet filter.
Check water supply - 15 l/min.
Water hose min. 3/4".
Pressure varies from max. to min. or
pressure considerable lower than usually
Nozzle clogged up or with scale deposits Clean nozzle, see section 6.3.
Too high back pressure in hoses or accessories Dismount extension hoses or accessories, and retry with a
standard hose
Descale coil, see section 6.2.
Hoses/spray lance frozen up Let them thaw.
*) F2 is usually a temporary fault caused by lack of water or air in the system after a few minutes’ operation in cold water mode. You may try
to operate in hot water mode again by disconnecting the power for the machine and continue as normally at the required temperature.
Should other malfunctions occur than those mentioned above, please contact the nearest ALTO service organisation.
