PRE-SEASON INSPECTION. MAINTENANCE AND PROCEDURES
WARNING: FAILURE TO MAINTAIN YOUR ALTO CAN CAUSE PREMATURE AND UNEXPECTED
PARTS BREAKAGE AND/OR ERRATIC OPERATION THAT MAY BE HAZARDOUS.
NOTE: For additional information, see appliance and equipment manufacturers’ literature.
SEASONAL
Grease wheel bearings.
Lubricate all locks and padlocks with WD40.
Lubricate door latch with WD40.
Lubricate worm screw and corner jacks.
Touch up aluminum extrusions with black semi-gloss paint (Tremclad semi-gloss applied
with a brush or spray, masking adequately in the latter case).
Check safety chains.
Check wear and proper functioning of brakes.
Check tire wear and air pressure.
Check air pressure of spare tire.
Check water level inside the battery.
Check detectors.
Check for propane leaks.
Check that all propane appliances are in good working order.
Inspect combustion chamber and smoke duct in the case of propane refrigerator.
Check that the electric system is in good working order.

Start-Up and Disinfection
Before beginning the start-up and disinfection procedures, make sure the ALTO is level.
1. Make sure water pump is “OFF” using “PUMP” switch (photo F-1.3) on Monitor Panel. The
indicator light must be off.
2. Drain antifreeze from potable water tank by opening the exterior valve (photo E-1.1)
located behind the axle, between the wheel and the chassis left side (or near the waste
water valves on some models). When the tank is empty, close the valve.
3. Pour bleach in the potable water tank and completely fill the tank with water (60 ml for
ALTO 17xx, and 100 ml for ALTO s 21 and 24). (See DISINFECTION section).
4. Turn on water pump by turning on “PUMP” switch (photo F-1.3) on Monitor Panel. The
indicator light must be on.
