7.4 V-belt
Re move V-belt guard (1).
Check V-belt (2) for ten sion and con di tion.
Slacken the nuts (3) of the rub ber buff ers on the out side.
Push the en gine frame back.
X: ca. 10 mm (0.4 in)
Both buff ers should be equally pre-tensioned.
Tighten nuts.
Crank the drive man u ally and re check ten sion and cor rect if
nec es sary.
Re place V-belt guard.

It is im por tant to en sure that the frame is also ac tu ally
pushed on the rub ber buffer con tact sur faces and not
just that the rub ber el e ments are stretched and then
spring back. If nec es sary, ap ply light blows with a ham -
mer to knock the rub ber buff ers for ward.
Check the ten sion of the V-belt af ter 25 op. hrs. again.
Ad just the ten sion if nec es sary.
Crush ing haz ard from belt drive.
Do not start the en gine with out the V-belt guard.
