6.8 Air fil ter
• Clean in take port (1).
• Open cover (2).
• Open re tain ing clips (3) and re move cover (4).
• Care fully re move fil ter el e ment (5) from fil ter hous ing (6).
• Clean fil ter cover (4) and hous ing (6).
• Check fil ter el e ment (5) for cracks or other dam age by hold ing
against the light or us ing a lamp.
• Beat the se cu rity el e ment eas ily out.
• Blow out fil ter el e ment (5) with dry com pressed air (max. 5
bar) from in side to the out side.
• Note num ber of clean ing cy cles on the fil ter el e ment.
• Care re fit fil ter el e ment (5).
• Fit cover (4) and se cure with clips (3).
• Close cover (2).

Change the fil ter el e ment:
– if the fil ter el e ment or seal ing ring is dam aged
– af ter clean ing six times
– if sooty de pos its are pres ent
– if moist or oily de pos its are pres ent
– if en gine per for mance re duces or
– if the ex haust gas changes col our
– min i mum once a year
Never op er ate the en gine with out air fil ter el e ment.
The fil ter car tridge and the se cu rity el e ment not
wash out.
The se cu rity el e ment not blow out with com -
pressed air.
