3.5.3 Start ing the en gine (Elec tric start)
• Set the en gine speed con trol le ver (1) to «MAX».
• In very cold con di tions, the decompressor le ver (2) should, in
ad di tion, be moved un til it stops in start po si tion.
• In sert the starter key (5) and turn to «I»; bat tery charge in di ca -
tor (6) light up, the sig nal ling de vice sounds (7).
• Turn starter key to «II»; when the en gine starts, re lease the
starter key.
3.5.4 Nach Anspringen des Mo tors
• Set the en gine speed con trol le ver (1) to «MIN».
• Al low the en gine to run for 1 – 2 min utes to warm up.

Important
The load in di ca tor light (6) mon i tors the func tion ing of
the al ter na tor. It il lu mi nates with the en gine stopped in
the ‘ig ni tion on’ po si tion «I» and must go out when the
en gine runs.
Attention
Al low the en gine to come to rest be fore any re -
peated at tempt to start it.
Never ac ti vate the starter while the en gine is run -
ning.
