Usage Features
The oven features a multifunction selector (A) to choose between different cooking modes, a multifunction indicator neon (B), an electronic timer (C), a temperature control indicator neon (D), and a temperature control selector (E).
- Fan Oven: Heats air circulated by a fan, suitable for even cooking on all shelf levels, especially for batch baking. Preheating is often not necessary, but for recipes needing high temperatures (e.g., bread, pastries, scones, soufflés) or frozen/chilled meals, preheating is recommended. Temperatures are generally 20-25°C lower than conventional cooking.
- Conventional Oven: Uses top and lower elements for single-level cooking, providing extra base browning. Best results are achieved with single-level cooking.
- Zoned Oven: Combines the top element with the fan, making the top of the oven hotter than the bottom (up to 30°C difference). Ideal for cooking dishes requiring different temperatures simultaneously on two shelves.
- Defrost Feature: Circulates air around food using the oven fan, accelerating the defrosting process. Suitable for delicate frozen foods like cream-filled gateaux, cheesecakes, and small meat/fish portions. All meat and poultry must be thawed thoroughly before cooking and cooked immediately after thawing.
- Thermal Grilling: Operates the grill element and oven fan together, circulating hot air. Reduces the need to check and turn food, minimizes cooking smells, and allows grilling with the oven door closed. Suitable for most foods typically cooked under a conventional grill, except toast and rare steaks.
- Grill: Full heat grill for foods requiring high heat and short cooking times (e.g., toast, blue/rare steaks). The grill door must be left open during grilling.
- Telescopic Runners: Fitted in the fan oven and top shelf position for easier access to food by allowing shelves to be pulled out.
- Electronic Timer: Allows setting the time of day, a minute minder (up to 23 hours 59 minutes), and automatic cooking programs (switch on and off automatically, or switch off only). Features a lock function for the main oven.
Maintenance Features
- Cooling Fan: Operates when the grill or oven is in use to keep controls cool. It may run on after the appliance is switched off. Always allow the fan to cool the appliance down before switching off at the wall for cleaning or maintenance.
- Cleaning Materials: Use only manufacturer-recommended cleaning materials. Avoid bleach, abrasives, and scouring pads on stainless steel or painted finishes.
- Outside Cleaning: Regularly wipe the control panel, oven doors, and appliance sides with a soft cloth and hot soapy water. For stainless steel models, finish with a soft cloth to prevent streaking. Wipe off any spillage immediately.
- Grill and Oven Furniture: All removable parts (except the grill pan handle) can be washed in the dishwasher. Grill pan, grill pan grid, and oven shelves can be cleaned with a soap-impregnated steel wool pad, with soaking in hot soapy water recommended for heavily soiled items.
- Inside Oven Cleaning: The vitreous enamel can be cleaned with normal or aerosol oven cleaners, following manufacturer instructions and rinsing well. Avoid contact with elements or the door seal.
- Oven Clean Feature: A dedicated function to assist with cleaning. Running it for an hour or two per week can help prevent soilage buildup.
- Door Glass Cleaning: The outer door glass is removable for cleaning. Use a soft cloth and hot water; Hob Brite can be used for heavily soiled inner panels. Do not use abrasive cleaners on door glass or attempt to clean the foil inside the door.
- Wirework Side Runners: Removable for cleaning. Wash in hot soapy water; mild abrasives can be used for heavy soil.
- Oven Light Bulb Replacement: Instructions are provided for replacing the 300°C 25 watt small Edison Screw bulb. Always disconnect power before replacing.
