What to do if the andrews ECOflo EC230/600 Water Heater upper sensor reading is faulty?
    • J
      Joel HullJul 30, 2025
If the Andrews Water Heater's upper sensor reading is faulty due to the resistance being out of range, first, check the continuity of the wire harness to the upper sensor. If the wire harness is okay, then replace the upper sensor.

What to do if flame detected before ignition in andrews ECOflo EC230/600?
    • T
      Tara DavisAug 3, 2025
If the Andrews Water Heater detects a flame before ignition, ensure the gas valve has closed and that no voltage is present at the gas valve before the ignition cycle. Also, verify the wire positions on the wire harness are correct. If the gas valve is stuck open, replace it.

What to do if flame detected after heating cycle completes in andrews ECOflo EC230/600 Water Heater?
    • J
      Jennifer LloydAug 8, 2025
If the Andrews Water Heater continues to detect a flame after the heating cycle completes, verify that the gas valve has closed and that there's no voltage present at the gas valve after the cycle. Also, check to ensure the wire positions on the wire harness are correct. If the gas valve remains stuck open, it should be replaced.

What to do if andrews ECOflo EC230/600 Water Heater flame sensed out of normal sequence?
    • T
      Tami FlemingAug 11, 2025
If the Andrews Water Heater senses a flame out of the normal sequence (either before the gas valve opens or after it closes), verify that the gas valve has closed completely. Ensure there is no voltage present at the gas valve before or after the ignition cycle. Also, confirm that the wire positions on the wire harness are correct. If the gas valve is stuck open, replace it.

What to do if andrews ECOflo EC230/600 damper end switch failed to close (stuck open)?
    • C
      Craig KingAug 20, 2025
If the flue damper on your Andrews Water Heater is stuck open, begin by checking if the flue damper has fully opened. If it hasn't, disconnect the damper harness at the damper plug connection and check for 24 volts between the pins on the red and white wires. If there's no voltage, inspect the wire harness or measure the output on the control board (pins 1&4). If there's still no voltage at the control board, replace it. Replace the wire harness if voltage doesn't pass to the pin terminals from the control. If there is 24 volts at the flue damper connection, replace the flue damper. If the damper is open, disconnect the harness and check continuity between the pins from the black and yellow wires on the flue damper. If there's no continuity, replace the flue damper.

How to fix low flame sense on andrews ECOflo EC230/600?
    • L
      Lisa SweeneyAug 25, 2025
To address a low flame sense issue in your Andrews Water Heater, first, determine the flame sense current in the Service mode while the water heater is operating. If it's less than 1.0 microamps, inspect the pilot flame sense rod using emery cloth. If the issue persists, replace the pilot.

If the flue damper on your Andrews Water Heater is stuck closed, start by checking if the flue damper has fully closed. If not, disconnect the damper harness at the damper plug connection and check for 24 volts between the pins on the red and white wires. If there's no voltage, check the wire harness or measure the output on the control board (pins 1&4). If there's still no voltage at the control board, replace it. If voltage doesn't pass through the wire harness to the pin terminals from the control, replace the wire harness. If there is 24 volts at the flue damper connection, replace the flue damper. If the damper is closed, disconnect the harness and check continuity between the pins from the black and yellow wires on the flue damper. If there is continuity, the end switch is stuck open...
