LUBRICANTS
Oil can seriously damage skin through
repeated and prolonged exposure.
Always wash your hands thoroughly af-
ter handling it.
We recommend that you wear latex
gloves while performing maintenance
operations.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
ALWAYS DISPOSE OF OIL IN COMPLI-
ANCE WITH ENVIRONMENTAL REGULA-
TIONS.
Work very carefully.
Do not spill any oil!
Be careful not to spill oil on any compo-
nents, the work area and the surround-
ing area.
If necessary, thoroughly clean any traces
of oil.
In case of oil leaks or malfunctions, con-
tact your nearest aprilia dealer.

CAUTION
TRANSMISSION OIL
Have the transmission oil level checked ev-
ery 3,750 mi (6,000 km).
The transmission oil must be changed after
the first 625 mi (1,000 km) and every 15,000
mi (24,000 km) thereafter.
To check and change the oil, contact your
nearest aprilia dealer.
ENGINE OIL
Check the engine oil level every 1,875 mi
(3,000 km), see page 60 (CHECKING EN-
GINE OIL LEVEL AND TOPPING UP).
NOTE Use oil specified as 5/W 40, see
page 90 (LUBRICANT CHART).
When topping up engine oil, make sure
you do not exceed the “MAX” level.
The engine oil must be changed after the
first 625 mi (1,000 km) and thereafter:
– every 3,750 mi (6,000 km) change only.
– every 1,875 mi (3,000 km) level check/
top up.
To change, contact your nearest aprilia
dealer.
