4.8.7 CHECKING THROTTLE VALVE CONTROL
SHAFT END PLAY
◆ Remove the fuel tank partially, see 7.1.4 (PARTIAL RE-
MOVAL OF THE FUEL TANK).
◆ Remove the air filter casing, see 7.1.7 (REMOVING
THE AIR CLEANER CASE).
NOTE Have an appropriate thickness gauge (1) to
hand with a 0.05 mm scale.
With throttle valves closed:
◆ Use the thickness gauge (1) to measure the minimum
play between the lever (2) and the contact surface (3)
on the throttle body in a number of points.
End play: min. 0.1 mm.
aCAUTION
If the minimum value measured is less than 0.1 mm,
the whole throttle body (cod. 295690) must be re-
placed.
With throttle valves open:
◆ Repeat the above procedure.
End play: min. 0.15 mm.
aCAUTION
If the minimum value measured is less than 0.15 mm,
the whole throttle body (cod. 295690) must be re-
placed.
