Using the Strap Stretcher
Firstly attach the 12 cross straps to one of the side
sections (see fig.43), by pushing each strap through
a locking clamp and locking by pressing the clasp
fully down, initially leave approximately 200mm (8
inches) of strap outside the clamp (see inset to
fig.43).
Ensure the patient to be lifted is free of bed covers,
place one end tube above the patient’s head and one
below the feet. Next, place the “unstrapped” side
section to the side of the patient (clamps
uppermost) (see fig. 44) and push each end tube
through the corresponding holes in the side sections
(matching the coloured arrowed labels).
Hold the “strapped” side section with the longer
length of the straps hanging towards the patient and
place it on the bed beside the patient, with the
longer length of the straps folded under the side
section (see fig. 45). Connect the end tubes as
before (matching the coloured arrowed labels).
