Maintenance of the instrument when it will not be used for a long period
If the instrument will not be used for a period longer than one week, maintain it by following the procedures below.
Items required: Alcohol, cloth, and protective gloves
1 Turn the power switch OFF
a Check that the [Standby screen] is displayed, and then turn the
power switch OFF.
2 Clean the feeder
a Sterilize and clean the carrying arm, test strip tray, suction ports,
and test strip feed tray, following the instructions in “4.1.1.
Cleaning the feeder” on page 4-2.
3 Clean the waste box
a Clean the waste box, following the instructions in “4.1.2.
Cleaning the waste box” on page 4-10.
Wear protective gloves to prevent exposure to pathogenic microorganisms.
Discard used test strips in accordance with local regulations for biohazardous waste.
