Temperature Sensor T3 is located at the product outlet from the heat exchanger and
the back pressure valve (9) is clamped to the T3 sensor housing.
Exchanging the modules will cause some water to be lost from the hot water
circulation system. It also creates a different processing unit with slightly different
operational characteristics; so it will be necessary to follow the routine in the
COMMISSIONING PROCEDURES section of this manual before operation.
Note: Always replace the acrylic cover over the top of the tubular heat
exchanger or the metal guard over the plate heat exchanger after
installation.
Alternative Holding Tubes
The heat exchangers are supplied with a 2.0 second (at 10 l/hr) holding tube installed.
As part of the standard supply, a 15.0 second (at 10 l/hr) holding tube is also provided
(for HTST duties). Other holding tubes may be provided to special order (e.g. 45
seconds at 20 l/hr).
To Change the Holding Tube:
Remove the temperature sensor (T1) housing from the heat exchanger •
•
•
•
Use the spare tri-clamp and gasket provided to attach the alternative holding
tube to the heat exchanger together with the return tube
Re-fit the temperature sensor housing (T1) to the outlet of the holding tube
It may be necessary to change the set up parameters on the temperature
controller (see ‘Operational Procedures’).
