It is usually better to set the speed to 0 before switching ON the pump.
Note The progressive cavity pump option FT74-18 should not be operated at speeds
in excess of 50% in normal operation or at any time with any back pressure applied.
Operation above this speed is purely for clean in place and for use with minimal back
pressure. Failure to observe this will result in premature wear of the pump stator.
Hot Water Control
The Hot Water Circulator controls are only operational when the electrical mains is
ON.
To start the Hot Water Circulator, press the appropriate ON button on the control
panel. This starts the circulation pump and enables power to be applied to the heater
at the request of the temperature controller. Pressing the OFF button removes power
from the pump and the heater.
The control panel includes indicator LEDs for the low level and over pressure cut out
devices. When a low water level is detected, the warning light will flash and power
will be removed from the heater and the pump. When high pressure is detected, the
warning light will flash and power will be removed from the heater, but the pump will
continue to operate.
Temperature Control
The Control Panel includes an integral three term temperature controller. The upper
display is the actual process temperature (same as the holding tube temperature), and
the lower display is the current temperature set point.
To adjust the required process temperature (set point), press the F key once then using
the raise and lower keys, adjust the display to the desired value. Pressing the F key
again will return to the normal display.
When the temperature of the product leaving the heat exchanger is below the set
point, power will be applied to the heating element in the circulator reservoir. As the
set point is approached the controller begins to automatically modulate the power to
the element.
