Connect the replacement sensor by inserting the crimped terminations into plug 10 as
follows: -
Red wire +12 Volts Pin 13, plug 10
Blue wire Signal Pin 14, plug 10
Green wire 0 Volts Pin 15, plug 10
Yellow wire -12 Volts Pin 16, plug 10
Feed the sensor and lead up through the cut out in the floor of the cabinet then
connect the sensor to the empty tapping in the pipework and tighten the compression
fitting. The thermocouple sensor incorporates a small box in line with the connecting
lead. This should be located inside the electrical tray when installed.
Calibrating Temperature Sensor T4 (Hot water circuit)
The sensor is supplied with the conditioning circuit pre-calibrated and no setting up
should be necessary following fitting. If it is required to check the calibration of the
thermocouple sensor then this can be carried out as follows: -
Using a thermocouple calibrator: -
Locate the small box in the sensor lead connected to plug 10 on the PCB.
Remove the lid from the box to expose the zero and span controls.
Disconnect the thermocouple lead from the terminal inside the small box and connect
the calibrator to this terminal observing the polarity. The calibrator must be set for a
Type K thermocouple.
Adjust the calibrator to read 0 °C then adjust the zero control to give a reading of 0 °C
for T4 on the front of the console.
Adjust the calibrator to read 100 °C then adjust the span control to give a reading of
100 °C for T4 on the front of the console.
Repeat this procedure until no further adjustment of the controls is necessary.
When calibration is complete disconnect the calibrator then reconnect the
thermocouple lead ensuring that the connections are as follows:
Green wire +ve terminal
White wire -ve terminal
Replace the lid on the small box.
Using ice and boiling water: -
Locate the small box in the sensor lead connected to plug 10 on the PCB.
Remove the lid from the box to expose the zero and span controls.
Disconnect the thermocouple from the pipework by unscrewing the compression
fitting.
Place the thermocouple in crushed ice and adjust the zero control to give a reading of
0 °C for T4 on the front of the console.
Place the thermocouple in boiling water and adjust the span control to give a reading
of 100 °C for T4 on the front of the console.
Repeat this procedure until no further adjustment of the controls is necessary.
Replace the thermocouple in the pipework and tighten the compression fitting.
Replace the lid on the small box.
