Delayed release after EMERGENCY-OPEN is activated
Concept
If a terminal with an EMERGENCY open element is used instead of an
operating unit, it can be used to request the door be unlocked from the
main control centre and alarm signals ensure security staff are alerted to
control doors. This ensures hazardous situations are detected more
quickly and operational reliability is enhanced.
The EMERGENCY-OPEN delay postpones an EMERGENCY-OPEN request for
a specified interval, so that security staff can check and decide whether it
is legitimate or not.
The EMERGENCY pushbutton on doors thus serves as an alarm device
here.
Note
The EMERGENCY-OPEN delay may only be used on escape routes where
there is an EMERGENCY-OPEN control panel (indirect unlocking) and
apermanently manned control centre.
Operation sequence
EMERGENCY-OPEN pushbutton is pressed.
An audible alarm is triggered; the door remains locked, however.
The display flashes red.
An audible alarm is emitted on the bus control panel in the perma-
nently manned control centre.
The operator now decides whether the EMERGENCY-OPEN request is
legitimate.
If so, the door can then be opened using the centrally controlled EMER-
GENCY-OPEN pushbutton (indirect unlocking).
If the special 'Delayed release after EMERGENCY-OPEN activation' func-
tion has been selected in
FT Manager
or pre-set in Profile XX, you can
repeat triggering of the delay time one or more times (depending on the
configuration).
