In this case, the measurement unit can only detect 0V (closed) or 4.4 V (opened). In order To
have different state measurement like open line and short-circuit we need to add a resistor
network to the end of the line, see FigAnnexe 2.
FigAnnexe 2: Fully Monitored Contact Schematic
Using the resistor Network, the measurement unit can detect 4 different states: 1.3 V, 2 V, 2.7
V and 4.4 V. The 4 states correspond respectively to Shortcut, Closed Contact, Opened
contact and Absent (open line).
According to the FigAnnexe 2, you have a fully monitored line responding to the security
norms.
