Commissioningthewaterheater
1.Fillingthewaterheater
1.Openthehotwatervalve(s).
2.Openthecoldwatervalveonthesafetyunit(makesurethattheheaterdrainvalveisintheclosedposition).
3.Oncethewaterowssteadilyfromthehotwatertaps,closethem.Thewaterheaterisfull.
4.Checkthattubingconnectionsarenotleaking,andcheckthedoorsealundertheelectricalcover.Retighten
itifnecessary.
5.Checkthattubingconnectionsaurenotleaking,andcheckthedoorsealundertheelectricalcover.Retighten
itifnecessary.
2.Checkingthattheapplianceworks
1.Switchonthepower.
2.Ifyourelectricboardisttedwitharelaytotakeadvantageofoff-peakrates(reducedpricesatnight),setthe
switchtopermanently on (I).Youwillsee3positionsinthisswitch.

•Forcedoperationor1position
3.After15to30minutes,watershouldstartdrippingthroughthesafetyunitdrainoutlet(whichmustbeconnec-
tedtoawastewaterdrainpipe).
Thisphenomenonisnormal;itisduetoexpansionofwaterduetoheating.Consequently,thesafetyvalve
willallowacertainamountofwatertoescapesothatinternalpressureinthetankdoesnotexceed7bars–
0,7MPa.Thisowmaybeabout2to3%ofthecapacityofthetankwhenitwarmsupfromcold.
4.Checkthetightnessoftheconnectionsandthedoorsealonceagain.

u When rst powered up, smoke and odour may be released from the heating element. This is normal and
disappears after a few minutes.
uWhileheatingup,dependingonthequalityofthewater,thewaterheatermaymakeaquietnoiselikeakettle.
Thisnoiseisnormalanddoesnotmeanthereisanythingwrongwiththeappliance.
