It is essential to cut all electrical power to the appliance before opening the cover.
1.1 Domestic maintenance
Prevention
Awaterheaterneedslittledomesticmaintenancebytheuser.
• Operatethesafetyunitonceortwiceamonthtoremoveanyscaledepositsandmakesureitisnotblocked.
• Ifaproblemarises,theappliancedoesn’theatorsteamisreleasedattappingpoints,turnoffthepowerand
contactyourinstaller.
Tokeepyourapplianceingoodworkingorderformanyyears,youneedtohavetheequipmentcheckedbyapro-
fessionaleverytwoyears.
Draining
Inregionswherethewaterisveryhard(Th>20°f),youareadvisedtotreatit.Withasoftenerthehardnessofthe
watershouldremainabove15°f.Thesoftenerhasnoadverseeffectonourguarantee,aslongasitisCSTB-
approvedforFranceandadjustedaccordingtogoodpractice,regularlycheckedandmaintained:
•Decreeno.2001-1220of20December2001andcircularDGS/SD7A.
•Decreeno.2002-571of25November2002.
•ComplieswithDTU60,1.

Proceedasfollowswhenyouwanttodrainyourwaterheater(operationnecessaryfordesclingoriftheheater
mustremainoutofoperationinaroominwhichfrostispossible):
1.switchtheelectricitypowersupplyoff
2.closethecoldwaterinlet
3.openahotwatertaporloosenthehotwatertting.
4.openthesafetyvalvedraintap.
1.2 Servicing by a qualied professional
Theprocedurefordescalingthewaterheaterisasfollows:
1. Cuttheappliance’spowersupply.
2. Drainthetankandremovetheheatingunit.
3. Removethescaledepositedassiltordebrisinthebottomofthetankandthoroughlycleanthelining.
Donotscrapeorstrikethescaleattachedtothewallsasthismaydamagetheinnerliningofthewater
heater.
4. checkthemagnesiumanodeandreplaceifthediameterissmallerthan10mm.
Horizontal wall mounted water heaters with direct heating element:
The anode is located on the side ange.
For water heaters Steatite magnesium:
Clean the sleeve, there might be some calamine.
5. Rettheheatingunitusinganewgasketandtightenthenutsgraduallyandreasonably(crosswise).
6. Fillthewaterheaterbyleavingahotwatertapopen;whenwaterowsoutofthetap,thewaterheateris
full.
7. Checkthegasketiswatertight.
8. Thenextday,checkthegasketiswatertightand,ifnecessary,tightenthenutsagainslightly.
Ifthepowercableisdamaged,it mustbereplacedbythemanufacturer,theafter-salesserviceorsimilarly
qualiedpersonsinordertoavoidanydanger.
