Step Action
5 Fill the compressor sump with oil as specified in Oil specifications. The level should be
between the 2 lines on the sight-glass (SG). Reinstall the filler plug.
6 Switch on the voltage. Unlock the emergency stop button.
7 Run the compressor for a few minutes. Stop the compressor. If necessary, top up the
compressor sump with oil between the 2 lines on the sight-glass (SG).
8 After carrying out the maintenance operations of the related service plan, the service
warning must be reset. See also Service Menu.
7.3 Adjustment of the intercooler pressure
Goal
The main goal of regulating the intercooler pressure in 8.6 and 10 bar compressor versions is to
increase the lifetime of the compressor elements. By adjusting the intercooler pressure, the
pressure ratio over both compressor elements can be optimized. This will have a positive effect
on the power distribution over both compressor elements as well as on the elements' outlet
temperatures.
The procedure is explained in the section Starting.
For a continuous life-time optimization, the evaluation has to be redone at every service
intervention and at each working pressure modification.
7.4 Motor greasing
Fan motor of ZT compressors
The bearings of the fan motor are greased for life. Contact your Customer Centre for the
replacement interval of the motor bearings.
Compressor drive motor (M1)
Recommended grease: Atlas Copco Roto Glide Amber, 16 g per bearing. Contact your Atlas
Copco Customer Centre.
Do not mix greases of different types.
7.5 Safety valves
Testing
The safety valves can be tested on a separate compressed air line. If the valves do not open at
the pressure specified in Settings of safety valves, consult Atlas Copco.
