Requirement:
all
additional
functions
require
adaptive
cruise
assist
control
to
be
active.
Overriding
control
You
can
override
control
by
the
system
complete-
ly,
for
example
if
you
would
like
to
pass
another
vehicle
or
if
you
would
like
to
accelerate
faster.
>
To
accelerate
manually,
pull
the
lever
toward
you
in
the
direction
of
the
arrow
and
hold
it
there,
or
press
the
accelerator
pedal.
>
To
resume
the
usual
cruise
control,
release
the
lever
or
remove
your
foot
from
the
accelerator
pedal.
When
you
are
in
the
Driver
assistance
display,
the
message
Overridden
will
appear.
Decreasing
the
distance
You
can
temporarily
decrease
the
distance
even
more,
for
example
if
you
would
like
to
merge
into
another
lane
because
of
lane
closures.
In
this
sit-
uation,
the
adaptive
cruise
assist
will
accelerate
above
the
set
speed
if
necessary.

To
further
reduce
the
distance
to
the
vehicle
ahead
temporarily,
pull
the lever
toward
your-
self
in
the
direction
of
the
arrow
and
hold
it
in
that
position.

To
resume
the
system
control,
release
the
lev-
er.

the
system
extends
its
area
of
control
into
the
adjacent
lane.
When
the
function
is
active,
the
adaptive
cruise
assist
will
reduce
the
speed
so
that
you
can
merge
behind
the
next
ve-
hicle
more
easily

Requirements:
the
system
is
activated
and
has
detected
that you
are
driving
on
a
highway,
the
difference
in
speed
compared
to
other
vehicles
is
sufficiently
small,
and
the
distance
between
the
vehicles
is
great
enough.
The
vehicles
are
driving
in
traffic
that
is
flowing
consistently.

To
activate
the
function,
activate
the
turn
sig-
nal
in
the
direction
of
the
lane
in
which
you
would
like
to
merge.

To
cancel
the
function
after
a
short
period
of
time,
switch
the
turn
signal
off
again.
System
control
will
be
canceled
immediately
if
you
press
the
accelerator
pedal.
The
system
will
continue
to
maintain
distance
to
the
vehicle
ahead
in
your
own
lane,
within
the
limits
of
the
system.
